As a young man, I grew up learning the building trades from my father. Essentials like framing, drywall, and laying tile. My father was a very meticulous man. I would get very impatient and usually make an excuse to leave the scene. Of course, I still learned most of what he taught me. I am very similar to my father.
My paintings and drawings reflect this attention to detail. At the same time I try to unravel this trait and become more spontaneous as my art evolves. I try to capture the magic of the scene or the uniqueness of the portrait.
I have a BFA from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. It was a time when most professors let you create “alone” and did not have much of a structured curriculum. Looking back I do not agree with that philosophy.
Most of these prints are sized so that you can frame them using 'ready made' frames that are available at your local art supply store or frame shop. I recommend switching out the glass in ready made frames for UV protected glass (available at any glass shop or framing store) to ensure archival standards and preserve the original color.
