Let us tell you about the 22 wonderful humans who are represented in this gallery. They came to Missoula, Montana from all over the country to immerse themselves in photography and pursue their dreams of becoming professional photographers. They spent more than 6 months investing in themselves, their work, and each other – and then came a global pandemic.
For the last two months of their Professional Intensive (PI) program at Rocky Mountain School of Photography (RMSP), instead of joining together in the classroom and studio, they had to spread out to their individual homes. Instead of learning from industry pros in person, they had to meet them through a computer screen. Instead of going on planned shoots in beautiful locations, they had to figure out how to make shoots work in their bedrooms and backyards. And instead of celebrating their efforts and accomplishments with friends and family – and each other – with a graduation ceremony, well, they just couldn’t. Like so many schools across the country, we had to cancel our graduation events, but that doesn’t mean we can’t still celebrate their awesomeness. And maybe you can help us celebrate them, too.
In this gallery you’ll find a print from each of 22 students in Rocky Mountain School of Photography’s PI Class of 2020. We hope you’ll buy a print (or two or three) to show them some love and bring some beauty into your own home, too.
And just in case you didn’t think these humans were awesome enough already, all of the profits from the print sales are being donated to the Missoula Food Bank to help food-insecure families during the COVID-19 crisis.
