Hahnemuhle’s Fine Art Baryta Satin paper merges photographic paper with fine art matte paper. It’s not as intense as the metallic paper that we carry but it does have somewhat of a gloss (satin look) to it and it’s an excellent paper for those of you who are looking for a ‘photographic’ feel. The quality and richness of its blacks lend itself well for black and white photography. Yes…deep blacks for all of you with high contrast black and white images. It also supports a large color space and produces vivid colors. This is a great paper to choose if image sharpness is a main goal. Hahnemuhle says that this paper has a white base but it actually has a bit of a creamy feel to it so it’s almost a warmtone paper. This gives the paper a subtle glow due to the reflective coating it has. And it’s surface..it’s not entirely smooth. In fact, the texture has a slight depth to its grooves giving it a slight look of leather under certain lighting conditions. This is a brilliant paper. Hahnemuhle is one of, if not the oldest paper maker and they definitely have a passion for it. Thank you Hahnemuhle for your creativity!

* Prints will shift in color if you display them in rooms that have windows. To prevent this from occurring, you need to use UV protected glass or UV protected plexi glass when framing your prints. Most ready-made frames from discount stores do not come with UV glass. It is not very expensive to go to your local glass or frame shop and purchase the UV glass separately.
