Although I love the look of Moab’s Metallic paper, I am often looking for something that is not so “intense.” Epson’s Enhanced Matte has the ability to feature colors and blacks like glossy paper but with a more gentle delivery. This is a smooth matte paper that will make your ‘blacks’ look like velvet and colors pop in ways that we don’t always associate with matte papers. Vibrant and saturated colors (yes even red!) come off beautifully as well as earth tones and completely black and white images with Enhanced Matte. Also, matte papers generally have a texture to them and we have a great selection of these, but this paper has an extremely smooth surface which is effective especially for portraits. Another great quality that is inherent with matte papers is that they can look stunning no matter what sort of lighting condition they find themselves in. You don’t have to worry about viewing angles and they look beautiful at all hours of the day. This is a great paper for both photography as well as fine art reproductions and I love what it does for abstract work. Even with a matte finish, images look crisp and still pop. If you don’t want the shine of the metallic paper and are looking for a smooth finish, this may become your new best friend! I have yet to find an image that does not look beautiful with this paper.

Special note: You will want to handle this paper with the white borders and avoid touching the black areas of the print as it can smudge and scratch easily. I ship prints under the protection of acid free glassine paper. I recommend storing it this way until you are ready to present it.
* Prints will shift in color if you display them in rooms that have windows. To prevent this from occurring, you need to use UV protected glass or UV protected plexi glass when framing your prints. Most ready-made frames from discount stores do not come with UV glass. It is not very expensive to go to your local glass or frame shop and purchase the UV glass separately.
